Basic Training for Askar Wataniah.
Starting from 18th of February until 29th of April 2012 Askar Wataniah is conducting a basic training called “Latihan Asas Perajurit Muda” to all its young recruits including volunteers from Allianze University College of Medical Sciences..
The training is conducted every Saturday and Sunday starting from 7 o'clock in the morning until 7 o'clock in the evening. The 240-hours training session is conducted over 20 weekends starting February. The purpose of this training is to provide basic military skills to the volunteers.

According to the Deputy Commander 509, Lt. Col. Nik Abd Halim bin Nik Mohd Zain the volunteers are exposed to the fundamentals of internal security operations. Volunteers in Askar Wataniah are expected to take part and assist the country’s armed forces in various internal security operations especially in time of emergency or natural catastrophe.
